2005 release. Brian Bromberg's fusion project 'Bass Ackwards,' previously only available as a Japanese import is now available in the U.S. The new version has been completely remastered, and one of the tracks has been rearranged and remixed. If you've ever wanted to hear Brian Bromberg play instrumental hard edged fusion, check this out. Brian's heaviest solo project yet, he not only plays all the bass, he also plays piccolo bass which he gets to sound like an electric guitar. Joel Taylor known for his work with Allan Holdsworth and Frank Gambale is on drums, with Brian on basses, you've got a power duo sounding like a power trio! Guest: Dan Siegal, keys-(two tracks). A few words from Brian, 'There are no guitars on this recording. All guitar sounding tracks are played by Brian Bromberg on the piccolo bass. The piccolo bass is a bass that is tuned to the register of an electric guitar. All of the piccolo basses on this recording are tuned an octave and a fourth above the tuning of a bass. The songs on this cd are high energy guitar oriented rock/fusion songs. These songs contain alot of shredding and blowing, lots of just 'going for it playing.'
