In December 2001, Chick Corea spent a month at the Blue Note in New York City celebrating his 60th birthday with nine different ensembles performing every two nights over the course of three weeks! Featuring duets with Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Gary Burton, Bobby McFerrin; the Chick Corea Akoustic Band with John Patitucci, and Dave Weckl; the Three Quartets Band with Michael Brecker, Eddie Gomez, and Steve Gadd; the Now He Sings, Now He Sobs Trio, with Miroslav Vitous and Roy Haynes; the Remembering Bud Powell Band, with Joshua Redman, Terrence Blanchard, Christian McBride, and Roy Haynes; the Chick Corea New Trio with Avishai Cohen, and Jeff Ballard; Origin with Steve Wilson, Steve Davis, Tim Garland, Avishai Cohen, and Jeff Ballard. Note: This is an SACD/CD hybrid cd which can be played as a Super Audio cd and as a standard cd. Attention Audiophiles: All of the music heard on these two cds were the first 16-track all DSD (Direct Stream Digital) recordings and the largest DSD recording totaling almost 60 hours of material, from the three weeks of live performances.
