SCOTT MCGILL MICHAEL MANRING VIC STEVENS

2006 release. Third collaboration from fusion trio MMS features guitarist Scott McGill, reknowned bassist Michael Manring, and drummer Vic Stevens reinterpreting classic jazz standards. MMS take on timeless classics by John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Bill Evans, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock and Sunny Rollins, among others. 'What We Do' takes these compositions, breaks them down and reconstructs them both musically and sonically (noted guitarist David Torn mixed the album). The first pressing of 'What We Do' features a bonus live cd recorded at the band's first gig together. Recorded at Orion studios in Baltimore, Maryland on 4/7/01, it features an electrifying performance of the band's group and solo material.
