2005 release. 2005 is turning out to be the year of the All-Star tributes with this heavyweight guitar fest produced by Jeff Richman playing the music of Miles Davis. The guitarists include Jimmy Herring, Eric Johnson, Mike Stern, Bill Frisell, Bill Connors, Pat Martino, Warren Haynes, Steve Kimock, Bireli Lagrene, and Jeff Richman as well. The backing band features Larry Goldings on keys; Alphonso Johnson, bass, and the grand master Vinnie Colaiuta on drums. Special guest: Miles Davis alumni-Dave Liebman, sax,-(four tracks). It started with Coltrane, then Mahavishnu and now Miles, who will be next?
