2008 release. The 2002 album Upojenie, now being released domestically for the time, may be Pat Metheny's most unique and, for many listeners, least well-known project. The guitarist collaborates with popular Polish singer and keyboardist Anna Marie Jopek backed by a group of Polish musicians. They perform re-interpretations of Metheny tunes including "Follow Me", "Letter From Home", "Are You Going With Me", "Tell Her You Saw Me", "Always And Forever", "So It May Secretly Begin", "Farmers Trust" & "Another Life". Several original pieces by Jopek and her husband Marcin Kydrynski are also included. Kydrynski also co-produced and supplied lyrics for Metheny's formerly instrumental compositions. Though a student of both classical piano and jazz, Jopek's approach eludes easy classification: It contains elements of jazz, rock and alluring, Enya-like dreaminess. This North American version contains three previously unavailable bonus tracks.
