2010 european, release. Guitarist Barry Finnerty, best known for his playing and recording with Miles Davis, the Brecker Brothers, Billy Cobham and the Crusaders, is back-after years of absence. Finnerty, still one of the most recognized guitarists of his generation, continues to blur the boundaries between jazz, funk, blues and rock with seven unique originals. For his first live recording session in over 10 years as a leader-he has invited an outstanding line-up of musicians including Randy Brecker (trumpet & flugelhorn), Victor bailey (electric bass), Dave Kikoski (piano & fender Rhodes), Graham Hawthorne (drums), Chuggy Carter (percussion) and the legendary Ron McClure (acoustic bass). Finnerty’s guitar work is tasty, technical and taunting as ever and he definitely has his own sound going, which is so great to hear these days. Tributes to Miles Davis and Michael Becker included.
